The CARSON drive concept for TAMIYA® Trucks in 1:14 scale
Equip your TAMIYA 2 or 3-axle TAMIYA tractor to the all-wheel drive all-wheel drive with our self-locking axles. The components can be easily replaced, as these are installed at the existing mounting points. A huge advantage of these axles is that there is no need for additional space for a shift servo (linkages and bowden cables), since this automatically locks automatically / automatically when there is a traction loss. Officially licensed by ZF Friedrichshafen AG.
You decide how to convert your 2 or 3-axle tractor, this is possible in two stages:

1, 6×4 rear axle drive (with self-locking differential)
– TAMIYA® 3-speed manual gearbox (kit) with two CARSON rear axles (self-locking), drive shaft set 6×4.
2, 6×6 all-wheel drive with 2 + 2 speed gearbox
(Front axle / rear axle / transfer case self-locking)
– CARSON 2-speed manual gearbox Compact in conjunction with the CARSON 2-speed gearbox Torque compensation (self-locking), driven front axle (self-locking), two rear axles (self-locking), drive shaft set 6×6.

CARSON 2-speed distribution box (with speed adjustment and self-locking longitudinal differential)
The 2-speed transmission is designed for use in TAMIYA 2- and 3-axle chassis in conjunction with the 2-speed manual gearbox Compact. It allows you to upgrade your model to all-wheel drive. It is easy to assemble, as existing bores / threads are used here. The transfer case offers two additional shiftable gears and a self-locking longitudinal differential which compensates for the difference in speed between the front and rear axles. In the event of a traction loss, the differential lock is automatically activated / automatically activated and ensures 100% traction.
Note: Due to the use of the 2-speed transfer case, the battery holder must be removed and the 7.2 V Fahrakku placed in the driver's cab.

• The ratios of this 2-speed manual gearbox and the 2-stage shiftable transmission with torque compensation (1st gear 1: 33.96, 2nd gear 1: 16.98, 3rd gear 1: 11.3, 4th gear 1: 5.66) were perfectly matched to each other.
• Self-locking longitudinal differential (shifter servo, linkages and Bowden cables are not required).
